Anoka/Ramsey Basketball Association is part of the Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association (ARAA), a non-profit organization dedicated to the developing the sports skills of kids in our area. Anoka/Ramsey Basketball Association concentrates on the game of basketball within the Anoka and Ramsey communities. We are committed to developing the basketball skills of the kids in our area by offering a wide variety of programs for every level of interest. We serve students in grades K - 12.
Anoka/Ramsey Basketball Associations primary goals:
· To provide guidance and equipment for youth, to allow them to gain a better understanding of, improve their skills in, and satisfy their desire to compete in the field of Basketball;
· To assist governmental bodies and their agents in planning, developing and maintaining recreational facilities to serve in the development of Basketball;
· To promote sportsmanship and health, competitive attitudes in youth, regardless of sex, race, religion, athletic ability or financial status, and by so doing, to promote improved social welfare through the character development resulting from such efforts.
The Basketball program is designed to:
· Teach basketball fundamentals
· Provide opportunities for supervised and organized competition
· Encourage sportsmanship, self-discipline and perseverance, regardless of sex, race, religion, and athletic or financial status
· Provide opportunities for team participation
· Provide exposure to the benefits of community involvement (through volunteerism and the mentoring of younger athletes)
