The 2010 baseball season is almost upon us. With registrations wrapped-up we want to take this opportunity to update you on upcoming events and changes to ARAA Baseball for 2010. The AR Baseball Board of Directors has been working hard this off-season to continue to make improvements to ARAA Baseball.

NEW T-BALL GAME DAYS

• AR House T-Ball League Game Days are Monday & Wednesday Nights to better utilize our community fields on a more regular basis and provide opportunity for better practice options throughout the week.

NEW ARAA HOUSE U-9 LEAGUE

• AR House U-9 League has been formed as an option for this age group to better concentrate on the "big change" aspects of the progression previously experienced when a player moves from Coach’s Pitch to U-10. The biggest change is pitching - the mechanics, principles and technique.

COACH PITCH IMPROVEMENT

• AR Coach Pitch League is set to incorporate slingshot style pitching machines in our new Machine Pitch League. The driving reason is consistency (speed and placement) to allow players to make better progression from hitting a ball off a tee to a moving baseball.

PRACTICE FIELD ASSIGNMENTS

• All AR House Baseball teams (Machine Pitch and up) will have a field reserved for them 3 days a week. The Association has made strides to ensure that each team has more time designated for skill development. This will help teach all our young players the skills needed to be a successful and competitive baseball player.
