    Updated ARAA Covid Guidelines 1/24/22

    ARAA COVID-19 Protocols – January 24, 2022

ALL FAMILIES – IF YOUR CHILD IS SICK, PLEASE KEEP THEM HOME.  Our tracking shows that COVID-19 is spreading through teams, and we have several positive cases on teams.  If your child has any symptoms consistent with COVID-19, please keep them home, and we recommend testing.  This Winter, several kids come to practice not feeling well, go home, and test positive within a day of practice.  We sometimes understand these symptoms come on quickly, but we have also had kids come sick and then test positive.

As we loosen up on the COVID-19 guidelines, it is essential we can still keep sports running as safely as possible.  We appreciate your partnership in following these protocols.  Any violation of these protocols will result in a Code of Conduct for the athlete, family, coach, or board member and may mean removal from the current ARAA sports season.

Thank you – Jen Niska, ARAA Vice President, and COVID-19 Administrator and the ARAA Board

Coach or Athlete Positive COVID-19 Test - Guidelines are the same for everyone, regardless of vaccination status

    • Positive COVID-19 Test results should be reported to your sport's COVID Administrator
    • Regardless of vaccination status
      • Stay home for 10 days, beginning the day after a positive test
      • If you have a fever, continue to stay home until you are fever-free and off fever-reducing medication for 24 hours

Team Exposure: ARAA Sport COVID-Administrator will alert the coach and the team to let them know there has been a positive case, ask them to watch their symptoms, and recommend wearing a mask for 10 days.

Exposure, not in household: Masks are recommended for 10 days.

    Exposure in household

    • Athletes or coaches may return after 7 days w/negative test or 10 days without a test the day after last exposure (last day of exposure is day "0").
    • If an athlete or coach can verify that they had COVID (PCR Notification, doctor confirmation, or record) within the last 90 days, they can return wearing a mask

    FAQ’s

    • New protocols will begin on January 24, 2022.
    • Teams on the previous protocols will be able to shift to this new protocol, but please provide extreme patience with the COVID-Administrators because several teams are currently out due to positive cases on teams.
