2014 A/R TRAVELING BASEBALL TRYOUT DATES

A/R Traveling Baseball Tryouts for the 2014 season (next year) will be held on August 3, 2013 for the 10U and 11U levels and August 10, 2013 for the 12U, 13U, 14U levels. Please place this on your calendars as you plan summer vacations and plans near the end of the season this coming year. In the event of a rainout on either scheduled day, A/R Traveling Baseball Tryouts will be moved to the next day (August 4, 2013 and August 11, 2013).

2013 A/R Traveling Tryout Update 08.28.12

Just a quick update on the 2013 A/R Traveling Baseball Try Out process. 

We expect to receive the results from PHD Baseball on Try Outs by August 28, 2012. After we review the results, the Coach Selection Committee will begin the process of selecting Coaches for the "AAA" teams through an interview process that is expected to take a couple of weeks. The first week in September the Coach Selection Committee will convene to discuss the criteria for selecting Coaches. The interviews should take place during the 2nd and 3rd weeks of September. After interviews are complete and Coaches are selected, the Team selection committee will begin the process of formulating the teams per the try out results. Coaches will then be given an opportunity to review and present to the Team Selection Committee any "Coaches Picks". The Committee will review and decide if the request for the move falls within the guidelines for the pick. Once the teams are set, we expect to have the results posted on the A/R site by the last week in September. The "AA" Coaches will follow and the results of those teams should be posted within the 2 weeks following. If all goes as planned, all teams should be posted no later than Mid October.

2013 A/R Traveling Baseball Tryout Summary

The Fall Try Outs are now complete. We had 196 kids try out for Anoka/Ramsey Traveling Baseball this year (10U-14U). It was great to see such a good turn out and the great weather was a plus! Everything went very smooth, although we learned that we will need to make a few adjustments for next year to make it run even smoother. Thank you to all those that volunteered their time. Thanks to PHD Baseball. And thank you to all of the parents that were there to observe.

2013 A/R Traveling Baseball Tryout Information Details

A/R TRAVEL BASEBALL TRYOUT INFORMATION DETAILS

The A/R Traveling Tryouts are set for the 2013 season. We look forward to seeing you at the ballpark soon!

You must be at tryouts for your age group at the time listed below. Do not be late, you may not be allowed in after the process begins. The tryouts will be held at Anoka High School, same spot as last year, go around the school to the right, near the football field. Registration will take place near the football field/equipment shed. Park in the lot near the shed, the dirt lot near the baseball fields will be closed. Parents will only be allowed to view from the outfield fence and may not coach or instruct their child. No parent will be allowed to park near the batting cages. Any interference from a parent and they may be removed from tryouts. It is very important to note that tryouts will begin at the specified times. The kids must have registration and warm-ups done before the time indicated for their age group, so it would be suggested to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your start time. We ask that all players trying out do not wear their A/R Travel baseball cap or jersey they may have to tryouts as this may create an unfair advantage.

We will follow the guide lines as set forth in the Policy and Procedure Manual for A/R Baseball. Each player will only be allowed to try out for one age group for next year's season. Parents must indicate on the registration form the age group their child is requesting to play for.  To maintain consistency and give each player the same opportunity, there will only be one try out for each age group. The tryouts will consist of 5-6 stations. Players will be run through each station and graded by an independent company, PHD Baseball. They will then be run through a second time within the timeframe listed below and given a second score. Their scores will be recorded and disseminated at a later date to the Traveling Director for discussion with the Team Selection Committee.

If you are interested in coaching an A/R Baseball Traveling team, please fill out the A/R Coach Application Form and return to Dean Abatte. Coaches will be interviewed in September-October 2012 by the A/R Coach Selection Committee.

*NOTE: Should there be a rainout on July 28, 2012 - Tryouts will take place on July 29, 2012 for the 10-11 year olds and should there be a rainout on August 18, 2012 tryouts will take place on August 19, 2012 for the 12-14 year olds - same time schedule as shown above.

*Is is suggested that players arrive no less than 30 minutes prior their tryout time to register and warmup on their own.

*Players have the option to tryout per their grade level if they are playing with older players than their birthdate.

TRYOUT COST IS $30.00 PAYABLE BY CHECK OR CASH ON DAY OF TRYOUT TO A/R BASEBALL

  • Parents are to check in at the bleachers next the football field on the north side of Anoka High School.
  • Parents will be required to stay behind the outfield fence or their cars and will not be allowed in or around the tryout fields or batting cage area.
  • The AAA and AA A/R BB Travel Teams will be selected by Fall of 2012.  
  • You MUST attend tryouts or you will not be selected on one of the teams. You will then be placed on an A/R BB House team.
