NLSC Club Policies

As part of the risk management and player protection policies of Northern Lights Soccer Club and in accordance with the recommendations of the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA), names of any kind may not be applied to uniforms.  As outlined in MYSA policies and as upheld by Northern Lights Soccer Club, we simply do not want our youth to be identifiable by predatory individuals.  Furthermore, altering the uniforms whatsoever is prohibited.

FAQ - Why can we put names on warm ups but not uniforms?
Northern Lights Soccer Club supplies uniforms and as the name implies, they must remain "uniform" in nature and therefore may not be altered.  Since the uniforms are supplied by the club, are mandatory to wear and are not purchased as a optional item, we feel it’s in the best interest of our membership and the responsibility of the club to uphold this policy for youth protection purposes.  Optional club apparel can be purchased individually through the online club store and therefore it’s up to each individual if they choose to have a name or nick name included on the articles purchased.

Updated Northern Lights Soccer Club Policy 2010
Ver. 1-32010.A
The Northern Lights Soccer Club logo or it’s name can only be reproduced on or applied to uniforms, apparel, accessories, or other sports related elements that are purchased through the Northern Lights Soccer Club or it’s store (store can mean physical location or online). The logo or club name can only be reproduced by Northern Lights Soccer approved vendors working under permission and strict guidelines of the Northern Lights Soccer Club. Interested parties desiring to use the logo or name on any aforementioned items may request permission to have items added to the store through the Uniform Coordinator; who needs final approval from the Uniform Committee and the Northern Lights Soccer Club President.

We anticipate 100% compliance with the above mentioned policies and wish you all the best in the upcoming Northern Lights Soccer season

Recreational Soccer Weather Cancellation Policy
It is important to note that we will not cancel sessions prior to the scheduled session time due to weather unless it is obvious that the severe weather will interfere throughout the entire night.

Cancellations are communicated in two ways. 1. An email message is sent out to all registered players via the email account on file on our registration system and 2. the cancellation is posted to our Facebook page.

If the fields have a lot of standing water on them from raining all day, the sessions will be cancelled in order to insure safe playing conditions for our players and protect the ongoing integrity and structure of our fields. At the Recreational Soccer level, cancelled sessions are not rescheduled.
