Flag Football Kindergarten-3rd Grade
Welcome to Anoka Ramsey Flag Football!
We’re excited to have you join us for another great season of flag football! Our program is open to all kids from Kindergarten through 3rd grade, offering a fun, safe, and engaging way to learn the game while building teamwork and sportsmanship.
In 2024 Anoka, Champlin and Andover joined together to create our ACA Flag football league. Each city hosts 2 weekends at their home fields.
It’s a great opportunity for players to experience a variety of fields, meet new friends, and enjoy the excitement of game days in a true community setting.
We’re looking forward to an awesome season filled with fun, growth, and football!

Meet Our Flag Director – Mitch Lonnee
Mitch has been a dedicated member of the Anoka Ramsey Football Board since 2022 and has done a fantastic job growing and strengthening our Flag Football program. His knowledge of the game and passion for youth football shine through.

Meet Our Flag Coordinator – Bonzo Black
Bonzo recently joined the Anoka Ramsey Football Board as our Flag Coordinator, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on the team! While new to the board, Bonzo is no stranger to our program — he’s been a dedicated flag coach for several seasons, always stepping up to help wherever needed.

Key Dates for 2026!
We’re excited to share our big events for the year! Below is a list of important dates to help you plan ahead. Keep in mind that times and dates may change due to weather or other circumstances, but we’ll always keep you updated. We can’t wait to see you and your player(s) at these fun events!
- Registration - TBD
- Summer BBQ - TBD
- Our summer BBQ is a combined event with Anoka High School football as a way to connect with the community and gear up for the upcoming season!
- Combine/Equipment Hand Out -TBD
- The combine portion of this event is hosted by the Anoka High School Football staff and team. Registered players will attend to get properly fitted for their football gear for the season. Players are welcome to run all the combine events. Please note that flag players do not need to try on equipment, but are highly encouraged to come out and run the drills.
- Youth Camp - TBD
- This event is included in your registration. AR Football has partnered with Anoka High School football to put on a fun week of youth camp for ALL registered players.
- Practice Begins - First Week of August.
- Prior to school starting, teams will practice up to 4 days a week. Once school starts, it will drop to 3 days a week - meaning two practices and a game, or two games and a practice per week.
- Anoka Kickoff Classic - TBD
- We will be hosting the 15th Annual Kickoff Classic. This is open to 3rd-8th grade tackle teams. This event offers teams competition in a controlled format, 30 minute scrimmages, rotating from offense to defense, versus at least 2 other teams.
- Picture Day - TBD

- Pumpkin Bowl - TBD

Anoka Ramsey supplies each player with the essential gear needed for the season:
- Team Jersey
- Flags

Parents/Guardians will need to provide their player with the following:
- Mouth Guards

What is SportsEngine?
SportsEngine is our main communication platform for Anoka Ramsey Football. It’s where teams connect with coaches and other parents, view schedules for games, practices, and events, and stay up to date throughout the season.
Within the app, you can also RSVP to scheduled events, which is a critical tool for coaches to plan and prepare for game day. Please make sure to keep your player’s availability updated so your team can stay organized and ready to go!
If you haven’t already, please download the SportsEngine app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Be sure to sign in using the same email and password you use for your arsports.org account. This will automatically connect you to your team and give you access to schedules, messages, and updates.
