ARAA is excited to offer recreational baseball for players in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades through the Gopher State North Star baseball league!
The North Star league is comprised of house league teams from surrounding communities such as Elk River, Champlin, Coon Rapids, Zimmerman, and others. You will play about 16 games in the northwest metro. There will be an additional fee for the year-end tournament once teams are formed. In this league, everyone plays!

Games:
Each team will play 16 games, 8 home and 8 away. Games are played in the north metro, typically in Elk River, Rogers, Champlin, Coon Rapids and Zimmerman. Home games for 7th grade are at Alpine, home games for 8-9th grade are at Central Park #7. Games are typically on weeknights. Home games are at 6 or 6:30. A few fields at away games have lights, so games may be scheduled at 8 once school has ended.
League:
We play through the North Star League with MYAS. More information on MYAS can be found here:

Season:
The season starts towards the beginning of May and goes until the end of season tournament the first weekend of August. Coaches work with the other team coaches to schedule games about a week before the season starts. At that time, they will take into account as much information players can give them about known absences (school programs, family vacations, etc.) so as to work around missing players as much as possible.
Play time:
All players will play! The entire team comes up to bat, and there is free substitution in the field, and players are rotated in and out. No previous baseball experience is necessary to sign up. All levels of experience and ability are welcome!
Teams:
Our goal is to have 12-13 players per team. There will be as many teams formed as necessary to achieve this goal. If more than one team is formed, there will be an informal “draft” to ensure each team has pitchers and catchers.
Fundraiser and Volunteer Requirements:
All families who register a child for baseball will be required to participate in fundraising efforts (TBD) or pay a $50 buyout option per family. Families must also complete volunteer DIBS hours; 4 hours per child or a maximum of 8 hours per family or pay a $250 volunteer buyout option at registration per registered child. This volunteer buyout option is available and included in the 2022 baseball registration form.
