2020 Football Season Update 4/7

Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association

Hello football family, we hope this email finds you and your family well. We apologize for the length; but, wanted to get everyone updated on the current state of the 2020 Football season.

Due to the unprecedented time we find ourselves in, we are delaying football registrations at this time. Please know we do anticipate having a season this fall and as such, are planning accordingly. Due to the uncertain nature of the Covid-19 pandemic our plans need to be fluid and any changes/important info will be communicated as needed quickly and openly; our website will be the best source for our most up-to-date information.

We plan to open registration in early May pending future updates at the federal, state and local levels, along with needing to align ing with our overall ARAA directives. While we plan to open registration soon, it is important to note that we will be especially sensitive to the financial and mental impact the pandemic has brought to our community and adapt as necessary. If you need assistance in making sure your young athlete can participate (in any ARAA sport) do not hesitate to reach out.

When we do open registration we ask that everyone plan to act quickly as this shortened time-frame will create the need for added quickness in the execution of our plans. Be it coaching or player registrations, we ask that you do not wait for the deadline to register. We will likely be unable to honor late registrations due to compressed timelines and future plans for our program which will include dates that we will be unable to change.

While we are disappointed that the Covid-19 pandemic has already impacted our program in lost opportunities for a spring football clinic, cancelations of free USA Heads Up Football Coaching Clinics, etc…the safety and well-being of our children, their family members as well as the ARAA and AHS team are our first priority.

Please know that we are looking at all aspects of the program to determine in what ways we can make changes to ensure the safety of all of our participants, volunteers and spectators. Feel free to send any thoughts you may have to and and we will take them into consideration.

Stay tuned to our social media outlets and our website as we will continue to communicate updates as quickly as we can.
