MISSION STATEMENT

Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation formed in 1979 to provide the youth of Anoka, Ramsey, and surrounding areas with guidance, equipment, and fields in order to participate in sports.

ARAA is an all-volunteer organization which cannot exist without the continuing efforts of committed parents, coaches, directors, commissioners, and board members. We believe this spirit of volunteerism and participation is essential to community health.

ARAA offers programs in Baseball, Basketball, Football, Lacrosse, Outdoors, Pickleball, Softball, Volleyball,  Wrestling and Soccer (Northern Lights Soccer Club). In 2012 our programs involved over 3,800 children and adults in the pursuit of athletic recreation, competition, and excellence. It is our hope that ARAA provides an opportunity for character development in all of its participants and promotes community well-being through its efforts.

ARAA Board & Individual Sport Committee Meetings:

Please visit each sport page for information regarding times, dates and locations for the meetings you would like to attend. These meetings are open to the public and we encourage you to attend, get involved and make a difference for your children and our community.

Concussion Protocol

ARAA takes the safety of our players very seriously. This is the protocol which is mandatory under the State of Minnesota. The MN Concussion law mandates that: • All coaches (head and assistants) and officials receive concussion training and education by September 1, 2011, and then at three-year intervals thereafter. • Coaches must remove an athlete from activity if they exhibit signs, symptoms or behaviors consistent with a concussion and/or are suspected of sustaining a concussion. • The law also requires a doctor's signature to return to play if an athlete is removed due to a concussion or is showing signs or symptoms of a concussion. • Click the "Concussion Protocol" button above for more information.

As a volunteer organization, we are always looking for board members for each of our sports!  Please utilize this application to express interest in any position on a sport board.  Visit each sport's webpage to see what positions are available.

We understand that whether we like it or not, incidents, disagreements, and accidents happen in relation to youth sports. ARAA always recommends trying resolve issues with your child's coach or with the leaders of the sport first, but if you need another path for assistance please complete an Incident Report. We promise to protect your anonymity and your child in every possible way.

ARAA is also consistently striving to improve as well as celebrate the wonderful things that our athletes and families experience!  Because of this we have created a feedback form that can be utilized if you would like to share a broader comment/question/concern.
