2025-2025 Traveling Basketball Registration

Welcome to Anoka-Ramsey Athletic Associations Traveling Basketball. Below is key information about participating in Traveling Basketball.

Traveling Basketball is available for boys and girls in grades 3-8.  Teams are set based on a tryout format. Traveling basketball is a more competitive program and requires a much greater commitment from both the players and the parents.

Program runs from October through March.

Cost: $650

Practices:  Twice per week (Monday-Thursday). 

Games: Tournaments are held at other local associations in the metro area, usually within 30-40 min away.  Teams may choose to also do an overnight tourney.  Teams will play 8 tournaments throughout the season and have the option to pick-up additional tournaments at the coach/teams discretion. 

The Traveling program ends with MYAS Grade State Tournament in March.

Tournament team entrance fees are included in registration costs. Some tournaments may require an additional entrance fee.

Fees

This season's registration fee for traveling basketball is $650 for 4th - 8th grade and $520 for 3rd grade, plus uniform costs. Payment plans are available.  

Uniforms are a separate fee from this basketball registration.


Payment Options

Grant-In-Aid (GIA) scholarships are available to help families pay for registration fees. Families in need can apply at arsports.org/registration. Please fill out the GIA application BEFORE completing registration (allow 7-10 days for processing). You will then receive an email from the Player Scholarship Director with registration information. Additional DIBS are required if approved for GIA.

Volunteer Requirements - Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association is a community organization run entirely by volunteers. All basketball players in 2nd grade or above must have a parent or guardian fulfill this requirement. Volunteer hours are mandatory.  4 hours of DIBs is required per player (max of 8 hours per family).  If you fail to meet your requirement at the end of the season you will be billed $500 penalty on April 15th.

- Volunteer hour opportunities are posted on the ARAA basketball website under the “DIBS” section.

- Each family is required to fulfill 4 hours per basketball player with a maximum of 8 hours per family. Volunteer Options:

- All registrants will have a payment of $500 due April 15 that will be canceled when families complete volunteer hours.  

Fundraising Requirements - All basketball players, 2nd grade and above, must participate in our yearly fundraiser or choose the “Buy out option”. 

*ARAA Basketball Board Members who have a child in the program are exempt from volunteer hours and fundraising requirements. Player registration is also discounted at 50% or 100% depending on the role (maximum one player per family).
