Welcome to Anoka-Ramsey Athletic Associations Traveling Basketball. Below is key information about participating in Traveling Basketball.

Traveling is for both boys and girls and for grades 3rd through 8th grade. Teams are set based on a tryout format. Traveling basketball is a more competitive program and requires a much greater commitment from both the players and the parents.

Program runs from October through March.

Practices:  Are typically 2x per week (Monday-Thursday).

Games: Tournaments are held at other local associations in the metro area, usually about 30-40 min away.   We do one Away Tournament (2021-2022 will be at Wisconsin Dells 2/5-2/6).  There are other financial considerations such as admission fees for spectators, uniform purchase if required, travel to and from tournaments, meals and concessions to take into account..  Teams will play in approximately 8-10 tournaments throughout the season.

Entrance Fees: Some of the tournaments we are attending still have a gate fee for each person coming to watch.  Each tournament decides their own entry fees. Below you can see which tentative tournaments have gate fee's the upcoming season.

Program ends with MYAS Grade State Tournament in February (Girls) March (Boys).

2021-2022 Traveling Basketball Registration

Please get registered by October 7th to Hold your Roster Offer.

Pricing & Payment Options

Due to changes in the fee's for Tournament registrations there is an increase in Traveling Registration cost this upcoming season (2021-2022).  Many programs within MYBA have moved away from charging "gate fee's" at the door.  Instead, they have increased their registration cost of the Tournaments  to cover the gate fees with the registration.  Tournaments that use to cost $225 per team are now $450 per team, etc.   Some tournaments have just increased their costs due to inflation and increase in facility and operational costs.  We have opted to do a mixture of tournaments this upcoming season that will not have gate fee's but some will still have gate fee's as they have not increased their prices yet.   Our Traveling Registration cost is less per season than most of the traveling  programs around us currently. (Blaine $615,  Andover $520,  Champlin $565).

Anoka Ramsey Traveling Basketball Registration: $500

For most families this isn't an over-all increase to the basketball season - just paying the cost for entrance to tournaments up front.   Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association also offers Grant-In-Aid scholarships and families can apply for this at if needed.

Payment Options:

  • PAY in FULL
  • PAYMENT PLAN 1:  Fees are divided into 2 installments with the first installment to be collected online today upon conclusion of this registration session via Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account. The fundraiser this year is mandatory for all basketball players 2nd grade through 12th grade.  The requirement is to sell 15 products.  We will be selling Luige's Pizzas & Butter braids this year.  There is a buyout option if you wish not to participate.  There will be incentives for participating in the fundraiser.

Uniforms are good for two years (this is year two).  The uniforms from last year are good for the season 2021-2022.  Uniforms are non-refundable.  4th Graders and New Players to our Program will need to purchase a Uniform (this includes Shorts, Jersey and Shooting Shirt).   You can email our Uniform Coordinator with any other questions on the Basketball Website (board page).

Refund Policy for 2021-2022 Season if changes occur due to the pandemic: If we need to cancel our season or make significant changes to the upcoming season (cancel tournaments, etc) - we will pro-rate the registrations costs effectively and provide refunds based off reduction of tournaments, practices or length of season.   The exact prorated amount will require board approval.
