We are pleased to announce ARRA is offering low cost Baseline Concussion testing for all youth athletes.
Baseline concussion testing is a preseason test used to test athletes on things such as memory capacity, reaction time, speed of processing etc. Results from a baseline test can be valuable as a comparison if you ever suspect your child has had a concussion. We will be using ImPACT’s baseline testing system, which is the same software that was recently mandated for use in NASCAR and used in many other professional sports. Each player will get a wallet sized card that can be given to their doctor explaining how to retrieve the data if the case arises where they need your baseline information.
Testing will be done at STEP College, 1353 US highway 10 Anoka, MN Right next to Anoka Hennepin Technical College (Please enter through STEP College main doors)
Cost: $10 per player please bring cash or check made out to First Choice Medical.
Dates and Times: Monday July 21st, Tuesday July 29th and Wednesday August 6th. The times are at 5 pm, 6 pm, 7pm, and 8 pm. It is done in a group setting so please be on time.

On behalf of Anoka High School and the Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association - we would like to invite you and your future Varsity athlete to an informational parent night on Tuesday, May 27 @ 7:30p-8:30p in the Anoka High School Auditorium. The purpose of this brief meeting is to inform parents of the Anoka High School summer training academy called, TORNADO FORCE.
TORNADO FORCE is an academy-like program designed to provide a central location for all sports from 6th-12th grade - from beginner to advanced - to develop the physical strength, mental discipline, social skills & emotional control we believe will assist your young athlete in competing to the best of their abilities and eventually at the varsity level.
Incoming 6th-8th graders will be involved with a beginner program called TORNADO FORCE PREP. The intent of this stage of the academy is to simply introduce young athletes to sport-specific training, life-fitness skills & prepare them for high school sports.
Due to the positive response last summer (160 middles school participants), we will now be offering 2 middle school sessions. Monday & Wednesday will be designated for 6th & 7th grade athletes. Tuesday & Thursday will be designed for 8th grade athletes.
All sessions of TORNADO FORCE will incorporate sport-specific strength, speed & conditioning, coupled with weekly awareness topics designed to develop the discipline of the mind.
Anoka Varsity sports are vital advocates for this summer program and most, if not all, Head Coaches will be in attendance at this informational night.
From the youth sports teams to the Varsity teams - the time has come to build the force.
Together, we have the power to influence.

Using Calendar Feature
One of the most convenient and user-friendly features on the new ARAA web site is the ability to build your own Family Calendar. While very helpful for parents with a child in even one activity, the real benefit comes to those parents who have multiple children involved at the same time in ARAA sports.
The feature offers the ability to within seconds print out a cumulative schedule in a calendar or list format for all of your kids' practices and games. This is certain to save your family time and allow you to be more organized!
Follow these simple steps to lay out and print your Family Calendar. When you are logged in to the ARAA Web Site (www.arsports.org):
•Go to the "Calendar" tab at the top
•Click "Show Tag Menu"
•Click "Clear Tags"
•Now check the box for the team(s) you want to utilize to create your calendar. NOTE - The Family Calendar will be available for all In-House sports. Travel sports will have their own functionality since their sites operate separately. At the bottom of the page you can "Print Page", subscribe to an RSS feed or subscribe to an iCal feed.
Thank you for utilizing the new and improved ARAA Web Site!
